Federal Flexible Couplings    a Quality Product  since  1953

A Federal Flexible Coupling --  is a true flexible shaft coupling,  that helps to absorb vibration

and can help protect marine transmissions against damaging shaft whip, vibration, thrust loads,

and some minor structural distortions and stress at transmission due to flex on motor mounts.

A Federal Flexible Coupling is made to replace a solid (rigid) propeller shaft flange,  and bolt

directly to the marine transmission and accept straight cut prop shafts  (double taper not avail).

Federal Flexible Couplings consist of a separate hub and flange put together as an assembly.

Parts are accurately machined to match different transmissions.   Special  rubber bushings are

inserted into the flange, spider pins slide through bushings and are threaded into the hub that

propeller shaft goes into.   The result is terrific flexibility and vibration dampening in drive line.

The Federal Flexible Coupling is not a Universal Joint- Proper engine alignment should be done

with a fixed (rigid) shaft flange first-   to allow Flexible Coupling  to maximize the best efforts.

NOTE:   "D"  on Chart is bolt mounting circle-   is measured  center to center-  across the middle of flange
"B"   Locating boss  (or Male Pilot)  is for Male Flanges  ( transmission will be "female"  )
"A"   Locating hole in flange is for "female" shaft flanges-   (where transmission has "male pilot"  in center

We can help- If know exactly Model # of transmission     (There are some variations -  so we may need more information)
Shaft Diameter is required    along with  engine HP  and torque   and transmission model  or  flange dimensions

See  General Pricing for Models on  pdf  file  below                   Note:  Special orders  may require additional costs
